Waste management by aspiration
When it comes to managing contaminated or radioactive waste, aspiration and filtration play a major role. On decontamination and dismantling sites, IDEALEX® implements effective waste aspiration solutions by separating the vacuum functions so that only the collected waste is processed through the appropriate waste treatment channels. The challenges of radioactive waste aspiration are numerous and require a specialized and secure approach. We have precisely the expertise to meet these challenges.
Challenges of aspiration for radioactive and contaminated waste
First and foremost, the main challenge lies in the efficient collection of radioactive waste present on worksites. At IDEALEX®, we understand that this waste can take various forms: dust, solid residues, and contaminated liquids. Aspiration allows for the targeted and controlled recovery of these wastes, reducing the risk of dispersion into the environment. Our aspiration systems are specifically designed to meet the unique requirements of radioactive waste while minimizing exposure risks for workers and the environment.
IDEALEX® vacuum systems
IDEALEX® offers various aspiration solutions specifically designed for radioactive waste management. Our vacuum systems are equipped with advanced features and specific criteria tailored to the diverse needs of decontamination and dismantling worksites:
- Glove box vacuum with controlled geometry
- Compact vacuum with metallic filter
- Glove box vacuum with filter cleaning system
- ATEX vacuum
- Shielded cell vacuum with waste containment and associated radiological protection
- Teleoperated shielded cell vacuum
- Vacuum equipped with radiological protection
These vacuums are designed to provide optimal performance while ensuring safety and protection against contamination risks.
Equipped with filtration barriers, all our vacuum systems comply with nuclear industry standards (THE, HE, EN1822-1).
VACLEAN® waste vacuum
A mobile vacuum developed in partnership with the CEA, designed for decontamination and dismantling sites and, more generally, for use in Controlled Zones.
SV1000-V2 vacuum
A vacuum designed for controlled zones, combining performance and practicality with a suction head featuring a variable speed drive, a 0.3-micron filter cartridge, a decanting bin, and a robust wheeled stand adaptable to the container size.
Metallic filter for glove boxes
A cartridge with 1µ filtration and a protective grid for the filtering media. Efficiency >99% according to ISO16170 standard (formerly AFNOR NFX44-011 test) for a maximum airflow of 50m³/h.
Operator Safety in Radioactive Waste Management
Additionally, IDEALEX® vacuum systems are equipped with advanced safety features to minimize operator exposure risks. Our equipment also ensures ergonomic and secure handling of collected waste, allowing for airtight containment with minimal transfer to appropriate storage, directly linked to the waste disposal channel.
Thanks to our expertise and radiological protection solutions, your decontamination and dismantling projects benefit from reliable and high-performance tools.
